CVF-6000E-12P Fruit and Vegetable Vacuum Precooler (12 Pallets / 6000kg)
Source Fresh CVF-6000E-12P fruit and vegetable vacuum precooler, 12 pallets, 6,000kg per batch, cools room-temperature produce to 2~8℃ in 30~50 minutes....
CVF-6000E-12P is a 12-pallet vegetable vacuum pre-cooler with a batch capacity of 6,000kg. It cools ambient-harvested produce from 2530°C down to 28°C within 3050 minutes; leafy greens are recommended at 24°C, root vegetables at 4~8°C. The vacuum chamber volume is 45.5m³, equipped with 2 Bitzer CSH85533-110Y screw compressors, designed cooling capacity 498kW, and 8 Busch rotary vane vacuum pumps in parallel for vacuum pumping, ultimate vacuum ≤600Pa. Suitable for large-scale origin pre-cooling and export processing bases, it is the high-capacity tier in the vegetable vacuum cooler series.
Where it is used
| Scenario | Description |
|---|---|
| Large planting bases | Centralized pre-cooling of 6,000kg per batch during harvest peaks, preventing field heat accumulation |
| Origin purchasing stations | Immediate cooling after bulk purchasing, shortening loading wait times |
| Farmer cooperatives | Shared use by multiple households, batch pre-cooling by category |
| Post-harvest handling centers | Connected in series with grading, packaging, and temporary storage, serving as the starting point of the origin cold chain |
| Export processing bases | Pre-cooling of exported leafy greens and vegetables for Hong Kong, with end-point temperature settable per order |
How it cools
Vacuum pre-cooling relies on the boiling point of water decreasing under low pressure: when the chamber is pumped down to ≤600Pa, moisture on the produce surface begins to evaporate, and the latent heat of vaporization draws heat directly from inside the produce. The 6,000kg batch advances in four stages.
| Stage | Time | Chamber pressure | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-pumping and pressure reduction | Initial stage | Atmospheric pressure → low-pressure stage | 8 rotary vane vacuum pumps in parallel engage, chamber pressure drops rapidly |
| Evaporative cooling | Main stage | ≤600Pa | Moisture on produce surface evaporates and absorbs heat, product temperature continues to drop |
| Pressure maintenance | Final stage | ≤600Pa | Pressure and product temperature are maintained, stopping once the end-point temperature is reached |
| Vacuum breaking and discharge | — | Repressurized to atmospheric pressure | After repressurization and air intake, the door opens for discharge; the chamber door is a vertical lifting sliding door |
Water vapor is condensed into water by the moisture trap (refrigeration system evaporator) before entering the vacuum pumps, so the pump oil does not emulsify. For process details, refer to the Technical Library.

Condensation method (differences between model suffixes A / W / E):
| Suffix | Condensation method | Description |
|---|---|---|
| A | Air-cooled | Selected when no water is available on site, simple installation, condensing temperature varies with ambient air temperature |
| W | Water-cooled (shell-and-tube condenser) | Works with cooling tower or circulating water system, stable condensing temperature |
| E | Evaporative condenser | Rejects heat through water film evaporation, stable condensing temperature, low makeup water demand |
For models with the same capacity tier and pallet count, A, W, and E differ only in the condensing end configuration; the vacuum system and moisture trapping capacity are identical.

Why choose it
- 6,000kg per batch, concentrated output release. During harvest peaks, one unit handles a batch of 12 pallets, advancing at 30~50 minutes per cycle, so materials do not queue waiting for the machine.
- Dual compressors in parallel. 2 Bitzer screw compressors at 76.6kW each, total cooling capacity 498kW; when one is under maintenance, the unit can still run at half load, avoiding a full-line shutdown.
- 8 rotary vane pumps in parallel for vacuum pumping. The 45.5m³ large chamber requires sufficient pumping speed; multiple pumps in parallel give margin in both the pre-pumping stage and the maintenance stage; target vacuum ≤600Pa, no Roots pump needed.
- Chamber door and small components are all designed for a large chamber. Vertical lifting sliding door, two conveying platforms, LS temperature control, and Weinview touch screen are all included, for smooth infeed and outfeed.
Installation conditions
- Site: Refrigeration unit external dimensions L10.3 × W3.2 × H3.5m (with support feet), vacuum chamber internal dimensions L7635 × W2710 × H3000mm, plus two conveying platforms to be arranged; reserve the working area accordingly.
- Load-bearing: Equipment weight 25,500kg; calculate foundation load-bearing based on this.
- Power supply: 380V / 50Hz / 3P, starting current 290A.
- Media: The condensation system requires nearby cooling water or makeup water and drainage.
- Exhaust air: The condensation and refrigeration units reject considerable heat during operation; the installation location must maintain unobstructed air intake.

FAQ
What scale of user is CVF-6000E-12P suitable for?
It is suitable for scenarios with large harvest batches and a requirement for single centralized pre-cooling: large planting bases, origin purchasing stations, joint use by cooperatives, or export processing bases. With 6,000kg per batch and a cycle of 30~50 minutes, the actual pace is determined by category and loading density.
How is the 30~50 minute processing time derived?
The time difference comes from vegetable variety and loading density. Leafy greens have high respiration intensity and large surface area, so they cool relatively quickly; root vegetables or tightly loaded batches require longer. The end-point temperature is set at 28°C, with leafy greens at 24°C and root vegetables at 4~8°C.
Why are 8 vacuum pumps configured?
The chamber volume is 45.5m³ and the batch material is 6,000kg; vacuum pumping must bring the entire chamber from atmospheric pressure down to ≤600Pa and maintain it. 8 rotary vane pumps in parallel can simultaneously meet the pumping speed of the pre-pumping stage and the stability of the maintenance stage, and also facilitate switching according to load.
Does the 12-pallet model need a Roots pump?
No. The target vacuum for vegetable pre-cooling is ≤600Pa; a Roots pump provides no gain in this pressure range and would be an ineffective configuration. This model uses rotary vane pumps in parallel for direct pumping and reaches the same target pressure.
How much margin should be reserved for on-site power distribution?
Running power is 225.6kW, starting current is 290A, and the power supply is 380V / 50Hz / 3P. It is recommended to calculate incoming line capacity and protective devices based on starting current rather than running current; the specific power distribution plan will be issued after confirming on-site conditions.
