CVF-1000A-3P Fruit and Vegetable Vacuum Cooler — Three-Pallet 1000kg/Batch, 20-30 Min to 0-10℃
The CVF-1000A-3P three-pallet vacuum cooler handles 1000kg per batch, cooling produce from 25-30℃ to 0-10℃ in 20-30 minutes.
CVF-1000A-3P is a three-pallet vegetable vacuum pre-cooler: standard pallets go in and out as full pallets, 1000kg per batch, one cycle of 20~30 minutes brings ambient produce from 25~30°C down to 0~10°C, and leafy vegetables usually settle at 2~5°C. Chamber volume 12m³, inner cavity L1400×W3900×H2200mm, ultimate vacuum ≤600Pa; air-cooled condensation, fitted with two Leybold SV-300 vacuum pumps. Suitable for origin purchasing stations, cooperatives and post-harvest processing centers shipping in pallet batches.
Where it is used
| Scenario | Typical user | Load per batch | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leafy vegetables (lettuce, spinach, choy sum, Indian lettuce) | Growing bases, origin purchasing stations | About 1000kg / 3 pallets | Boxed or crated onto pallets, pushed in as full pallets |
| Edible fungi (shiitake, king oyster mushroom, enoki) | Mushroom farms, cooperatives | About 1000kg / 3 pallets | Crate stacking height limited by chamber clear height |
| Cut flowers (rose, lily, carnation) | Flower origin processing points | By bouquet crate | Fast cooling, buds lose little water |
| Berries (strawberry, blueberry, cherry) | Fruit purchasing stations, sorting and packing points | By shallow-tray crate | Stacking must leave air channels to avoid crushing |
Firm leafy vegetables (Chinese cabbage, cabbage, baby cabbage) have a tight internal structure and limited vacuum pre-cooling effect; for such materials, confirm the process with us before choosing a model.
How cooling works
Water boils at 100°C at atmospheric pressure; when pressure drops to around 600Pa, the boiling point approaches 0°C. After the chamber is pumped to the set vacuum, moisture on the produce surface begins to evaporate; each kilogram of water vapor carries away about 2500kJ of heat, and the heat moves from inside the material outward, so the whole batch cools simultaneously — there is no cold-store pattern of cold outside and warm inside.
| Step | Action | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ① | Load pallets, push into chamber | Three pallets side by side, single-side sliding door closed |
| ② | Pull vacuum | 2 Leybold SV-300 pumps evacuate simultaneously, from atmospheric pressure to ≤600Pa |
| ③ | Surface moisture evaporates | The material’s own moisture boils and carries away heat, chamber temperature falls accordingly |
| ④ | Water catcher condenses vapor | Evaporated water vapor condenses on the water catcher and is drained, protecting the vacuum pumps |
| ⑤ | Refrigeration system maintains low temperature | Cooling acts on the water catcher, carrying the heat of the water vapor out of the chamber |
| ⑥ | Stop at temperature, break vacuum, unload | Automatically stops at the set end-point temperature, open door and take out goods |
The whole cycle is 20~30 minutes, with no defrost stage. If the cycle time is found to lengthen, the common cause is chamber sealing — door rubber bumped by pallets, valve seals not tight, or weld leaks in the chamber; fixing the sealing is more effective than adjusting the process.

Condensation method (difference between model suffixes A / W / E)
| Suffix | Form | Features | Applicable conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Air-cooled (finned + fan) | No cooling tower needed, connections only to power supply | Site has no water system, or equipment needs to be relocated |
| W | Water-cooled (shell and tube) | Stable condensing temperature, little cooling capacity decay in summer | Cooling tower and circulating water available on site |
| E | Evaporative | Low condensing temperature, little make-up water | Dry water-scarce regions, higher investment and maintenance requirements |
This model is A, air-cooled. The cooling capacity of air-cooled units decreases somewhat as ambient temperature rises; in high-temperature summer regions the selection margin needs to be calculated in advance.

Why choose it
Full-pallet in and out, no de-stacking for loading and unloading. Three pallets are pushed in side by side; the 12m³ chamber is laid out at L1400×W3900, the forklift delivers one pallet at a time, and neither loading nor unloading requires re-stacking at the door. In peak purchasing season at origin, loading and unloading speed often affects capacity more than cooling itself.
Two vacuum pumps evacuate simultaneously, so large loads do not drag out the cycle. Evacuating a 12m³ chamber from atmospheric pressure to 600Pa requires sufficient pumping speed; with a single 7.5kW pump, the evacuation stage lengthens noticeably under large loads. Two SV-300 pumps in parallel bring the evacuation stage down, making the 20~30 minute cycle achievable.
Air-cooled, no water tower, simple site conditions. The site only needs a power supply and a hard-surfaced floor to install; no cooling tower, circulating water pump or make-up water. Purchasing points and field sorting sheds usually have no water system, and air cooling saves the whole set of ancillaries.
Carbon steel chamber washable with high-pressure water gun, simple daily maintenance. The chamber is painted inside and out, so post-harvest conditions with mud and water can be washed directly; there is no defrost stage in the cycle, and daily maintenance focuses on vacuum pump oil and filter elements.
FAQ
Why does three pallets hold only 1000kg?
The load is determined by pallet dimensions and stacking height. After leafy vegetables are boxed or crated and stacked on standard pallets up to the chamber clear height, the actual weight of three pallets is around 1000kg. When loading edible fungi or berries, the stacking density of crates differs and the actual load changes; confirm per order — tell us the material category and packaging dimensions before ordering, and we will check the pallet layout against your boxes.
How long does it take to pre-cool one ton of leafy vegetables?
From 25~30°C down to 0~10°C takes 20~30 minutes. A high starting temperature, dense stacking and more water on the boxes push the time upward; thin spreading of leafy vegetables and crates with air channels bring it toward the lower limit. To judge whether the equipment is normal, check whether the cycle time has lengthened for the same variety and the same stacking method.
Is a cooling tower needed?
No. This model is air-cooled condensation and runs once connected to power. If the site already has a cooling water system, the water-cooled version (suffix W) can also be selected; in high-temperature summer environments the condensing temperature is more stable and cooling capacity decay is smaller; the selection margin for air cooling in hot seasons must be calculated separately.
Why are two vacuum pumps fitted?
The chamber volume is 12m³, and the pumping volume is more than half again that of a two-pallet model. Two 7.5kW SV-300 pumps evacuate in parallel, shortening the evacuation stage from atmospheric pressure to 600Pa, so the cycle time is not dragged out by evacuation. Running two pumps also makes it easy to rotate one unit during maintenance.
Does weight loss affect appearance?
Records for similar 1000kg-class models are 1.0~2.0%, varying with variety, surface moisture and stacking method. For materials sensitive to weight loss, weight loss can be reduced by adjusting the end-point vacuum setting and shortening the holding time; specific parameters are determined during commissioning by trial cooling with your material.
