CVF-4000-8P Fruit and Vegetable Vacuum Precooler — 8-Pallet Large Capacity, approx. 4000 kg/batch
Source Fresh CVF-4000-8P 8-pallet fruit and vegetable vacuum precooler, approx. 4000 kg per batch, cools room-temperature produce (25–30°C) to 0–10°C in...
CVF-4000-8P is the Yuanxian eight-pallet vegetable vacuum pre-cooler: approximately 4000kg per batch, reducing ambient produce (2530°C) to 010°C in 25~35 minutes, ultimate vacuum ≤600Pa, equipped with 4 rotary vane vacuum pumps and a Bitzer compressor unit. The specific condensing method (A / W / E) is confirmed per order.
Where it is used
For centralized pre-cooling at origin: 8 standard pallets per load, suitable for origin purchasing stations, planting cooperatives and planting bases with larger daily throughput.
| Application | Typical customers | Throughput per batch |
|---|---|---|
| Leafy vegetables (lettuce, spinach, choy sum, Chinese kale) | Export vegetable farms, origin purchasing stations | Approx. 4000kg |
| Edible fungi (shiitake, oyster mushroom, enoki mushroom) | Mushroom farms, cooperatives | Approx. 4000kg |
| Cut flowers (rose, lily, chrysanthemum) | Flower exporters | Approx. 4000kg |
| Berries and pre-cut vegetables | Post-harvest handling centers, sorting and packing plants | Approx. 4000kg |
For smaller daily throughput or sites requiring zoning, see the six-pallet and four-pallet models in the vacuum pre-cooler series.
How it cools
Water boils at 100°C under normal pressure; when the chamber is evacuated below 600Pa, the boiling point of water approaches 0°C. Moisture on the surface of the produce begins to evaporate, and each 1kg of water evaporated carries away approximately 2500kJ of heat. The heat is drawn directly from the produce itself, so cooling proceeds from the surface inward and is uniform throughout the chamber.
| Step | Component | Function |
|---|---|---|
| ① Loading | Hydraulic flap door + pallet trolley | 8 pallets enter the chamber as whole pallets |
| ② Evacuation | Rotary vane vacuum pumps ×4 (7.5kW each, 30kW total) | Evacuates the chamber from normal pressure to ≤600Pa |
| ③ Cooling | Vacuum chamber (33.8m³) | Surface moisture evaporates, produce cools |
| ④ Water capture | Water catcher (Yuanxian in-house design) | Condenses water vapor, protects the vacuum pumps |
| ⑤ Cold retention | Bitzer compressor unit (99.7kW) | Maintains low temperature of the water catcher, assists chamber cooling |
| ⑥ Shutdown | PLC control | Automatic shutdown when the set temperature is reached |

Why choose CVF-4000-8P
One cycle loads 8 pallets Approximately 4000kg per batch; loading and unloading are done with whole pallets, without unpacking or changing crates, making shift scheduling tighter at a daily throughput of 12~20 tons.
Uniform throughout the chamber, no cold spots Vacuum pre-cooling removes heat through surface moisture evaporation; temperature is consistent across all layers in the chamber, with no temperature difference where the surface is already cold while the core is still warm.
No defrosting process required One cycle is 25~35 minutes, and there is no frost-and-defrost cycle in the chamber. If the cycle time becomes noticeably longer during operation, first check the chamber seal — door gasket, valve seals, chamber welds — rather than adding a defrost program.
Vacuum system matched to the target pressure The pre-cooling target vacuum is ≤600Pa; 4 rotary vane pumps are sufficient, and no Roots pump is fitted. A Roots pump generally only shows noticeable gain after the chamber pressure has been drawn below 1kPa by the backing pump, has limited effect in the 600Pa range, and adds an extra maintenance point.
FAQ
How much can be loaded at one time? 8 standard pallets (1200×800mm), approximately 4000kg for leafy vegetables. Stacking density varies by category; actual loading capacity is confirmed per order.
How long does one cycle take? 25~35 minutes for leafy vegetables. Categories with higher loading density and moisture content take somewhat longer.
What is the weight loss rate? The pre-cooling weight loss rate for leafy vegetables varies with category, loading density and incoming material temperature. For categories sensitive to weight loss (such as edible fungi and berries), the final pressure setpoint can be lowered to reduce weight loss; specific values are confirmed per order.
How much electrical capacity should be reserved? 3P-380V-50Hz, maximum operating current 310A, 400A circuit breaker recommended.
Why is no Roots pump fitted? The target vacuum for pre-cooling is ≤600Pa, and rotary vane pumps are sufficient. A Roots pump generally only provides gain after the backing pump has drawn the chamber pressure below 1kPa, has limited effect in the 600Pa range, and adds another failure point. Only processes requiring lower pressure (such as freeze drying) are fitted with a Roots pump.
