CVD-10000 Large Vacuum Freeze Dryer — 100 m² Shelves · 1000 kg/Batch
Source Fresh CVD-10000 large production vacuum freeze dryer, 100 m² effective shelf area, approx. 1000 kg fresh material per batch, shelf temperature -5...
CVD-10000 is the large-batch production model in the Yuanxian vacuum freeze dryer range, with an effective shelf area of 100 m², a single-batch load of approximately 1000 kg of fresh material, a shelf temperature range of -55~+120℃, a cold trap operating temperature of -45~-65℃, an ultimate vacuum of ≤10 Pa, an installed power of approximately 180 kW, and a typical cycle from pre-freezing to discharge of 16~24 hours. The material is first frozen into ice, then under vacuum the ice sublimes directly into water vapor, which is captured by the cold trap; water leaves the material without passing through a liquid phase, so the finished product retains its original shape, color and flavor. It belongs to the large-size range of the Yuanxian vacuum freeze dryer series and is aimed at freeze-drying production lines processing raw material at the ton-per-day level.

How drying works
| Stage | Temperature trend | Vacuum | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-freezing | +25 → -55℃ | Atmospheric pressure to low vacuum | Water freezes into ice crystals, material sets |
| Primary drying (sublimation) | -55 → +60℃ | ≤15 Pa | Ice sublimes directly into water vapor, captured and condensed by the cold trap |
| Secondary drying (desorption) | +60 → +120℃ | ≤15 Pa | Residual bound water removed to reach target moisture content |
The entire freeze-drying process takes place in an oxygen-free vacuum environment, so the material does not oxidize or shrink. The rehydration rate of freeze-dried fruit and vegetables can reach 8595%, and the shelf life is 25 years under sealed conditions at room temperature.

Why choose it
- Large-batch capacity, about 1 ton per batch. 100 m² of shelves and a single-batch load of about 1000 kg suit freeze-drying processing at the ton-per-day raw material level; one line reduces batch switching and stabilizes output.
- Low-temperature sublimation, shape and color retained. Water sublimes directly in the form of ice crystals, the finished product keeps an intact framework and is close to the fresh state after rehydration, with a shelf life of 2~5 years under sealed conditions at room temperature.
- Combined vacuum stably maintained. The two-stage configuration of Roots pump plus rotary vane pump keeps the vacuum stably within 10 Pa; the cold trap captures water vapor at the same time, protecting the vacuum unit.
- Fully automatic curve control, selectable energy consumption. PLC plus touch screen sets pre-freezing, primary drying and secondary drying in three stages, with multi-channel real-time temperature recording; when a steam or boiler heat source is available, steam can replace electric heating and the overall power decreases accordingly.
FAQ
How much freeze-dried finished product can CVD-10000 output per batch?
Taking fruit and vegetables with a moisture content of about 90% as an example, 1000 kg of fresh material generally yields 100150 kg of finished product after freeze-drying, with 9095% of the moisture removed. Actual output depends on the initial moisture content of the raw material, slice thickness and the required final moisture content.
What size power distribution does a 100 m² freeze dryer need?
CVD-10000 has an installed power of approximately 180 kW and uses a 380V / 50Hz / three-phase power supply; export models are configured per order with 415V or 480V, 50/60Hz. The actual on-site power distribution capacity must be determined together with the heating method: the electric heating water tank is calculated at full power, while switching to a steam or boiler heat source noticeably lowers the overall power and the power distribution requirement decreases accordingly.
Why does the freeze-drying cycle span from just over ten hours to more than thirty hours?
The cycle is determined jointly by the moisture content of the material, slice thickness and loading density. Meat and high-sugar fruits require longer times; the thicker the slices and the denser the loading, the longer the sublimation drying stage. When the same equipment processes different materials, a cycle ranging from just over ten hours to more than thirty hours is normal.
Is separate quick-freezing equipment needed?
Pre-freezing can be completed on the shelves inside the chamber, or the material can first be frozen in an external quick-freezing warehouse to below the eutectic point before being loaded into the chamber; the latter can improve equipment turnover. Whether to add it is determined by the line rhythm.
Why does the vacuum system use a Roots pump plus a rotary vane pump?
Freeze-drying requires ice to sublime under vacuum, and the target vacuum must be stably maintained within 10 Pa. The rotary vane pump handles pumping from atmospheric pressure to rough vacuum, and the Roots pump boosts in stages in the low-pressure region; only the two-stage combination can keep the vacuum stably maintained under a large load, while the cold trap continuously captures water to protect the vacuum unit.
